Fun with water
Feb 20, 2011 - Home
I was at home alone and decided to do a bit of photography for fun.
I decided to do a shoot that pretty much everyone has done some point or another when they do off camera flash.

We were asked to participate in a shoot for model portfolios with a valentine day theme.
We were 2 different photographers, myself (along with my lovely wife Siobhan and our friend/assisstant Ourania) and Richard MacGillivray (richardmacgillivrayphotography.com).
The event was organised by fashion613.com

July 20, 2010 - blog
It's been a long time coming but I've finally redone the website.
The whole thing was coded from scratch and has been tested wiht IE7, IE8, Firefox 3 and Chrome. If anyone using a RECENT browser (IE7, IE 8, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari ... not IE5 or IE6) has a problem with this site please send me an email at webmaster@evildaystar.ca with a quick description of the problem and I'll see what can be done.
The site is currently only in English ... I'll add the French pages as I translate them so for you francophones out there please bear with me. Ca s'en vien bientôt.
The site is up in it's incomplete form right now for testing ... most things don't work yet. Please come back in a few days.

July 17, 2010 - Chateau Cartier
It's been a long weekend. Between the wedding at Bean Town Ranch and the wedding at Chateau Cartier, my team and I are a little worn out.
Thankfully, the weather cooperated with a bit of cloud cover to soften up the harsh light from the evil day star but between the heat and humidity, both the bride and myself were getting rather dizzy.
I never could have done this without my two assisstants, Siobhan and Ourania.
The location was beautiful, nice large fields of green with trees and the rooms were gorgeous. The grass in some places was a bit damaged (tire tracks of brown grass) but nothing a little post process in Photoshop CS5 could not easuily fix.

July 16, 2010 - Bean Town Ranch
Our first wedding over at Bean Town Ranch went quite well. The staff at Bean Town Ranch were friendly courteous, professional, helpful ... apparently my vocabulary is rather limited because I'm running out of complimentary adjectives to describe them.
The location was simply beautiful. We did have a small problem where the wedding was later in the afternoon and so by the time we were ready to do the formal shots, the light had mostly left us and so we were not able to make perfect use of the beautiful shooting areas that had been setup.
If you are a couple looking at a wedding at Bean Town Ranch, I suggest you take that into consideration when planning your special day.

June 11, 2010 - Café du Musée
Well, this wasn't a contract but my good friends Kasey and Mélanie were finally getting hitched. I joined the rest of our friends in celebrating their union and, as the photography adict that I am, I couldn't really stop myself from taking a few pictures ... just a few.
I did my best to stay out of Claude Brazeau's way as he was the official photographer for the event but I still managed to get a few nice pictures from the evening.
Mélanie and Kasey ... best of luck to you both.

March 13, 2010 - The glebe community center
First wedding of the year ... it was also the first wedding with my Photobook Gueatbook. the Glebe Community Center had a very nice room but it wasn't ideal for photography. Apparently, this community center was once a church as can be seen by the ridiculously high cealing.
The evening went well, after a small problem gathering family members for the formals. Since the ceremony happened late in the day, we were rather restricted in locations for the formals but all in all, things went rather well.
